How to Take the Lead in Your Next Interview
How to Take the Lead in Your Next Interview
One of the most challenging things about getting a job is going through the interview. Many job placement agencies conduct interviews in the same way and follow the same structure, but you can still never get used to going for interviews. Many of the times, you are nervous, and this can stop you from being the best you can be and thus deny you the job opportunity. However, there are a few tips that you can follow in order to ensure that you take the lead in your next interview.
Learn about the Recruitment Agency Venue
Taking the lead in your interview starts before you step into the interview room. Many employment services communicate the venue at least a few days prior to the interview. This gives you enough time to research about the venue and find out where it is. You can account for traffic and other unforeseen factors with this information, so you are not late. You can even visit the area a few days before if you are unsure about where it is. You do not want to be late or get there on time but disoriented because you had gotten lost before. Hiring agencies consider punctuality as one of the first qualities in a desirable employee even before you step into the interview room.
Practice the Staffing Services Interview Questions
While interviews are not all the same, there are some common questions in every staffing interview. Most of these questions are posted online with some of the corresponding answers that would work best for each question. If you practice these questions and answers, it will give you an edge when you are asked the same questions in the interview. Note that there is a difference between practicing and memorizing. You do not want to come off as though you methodically memorized all of your answers.
For IT staffing and other technical fields, you would also need to know the technical information and be able to apply it. For example, someone in IT who deals with programming would know how to execute various commands and write code. Some of the technical fields have a competence test, and you want to be prepared for this.

Handshake, Maintain Eye Contact and Good Posture
You need to have a firm handshake. It is the mode of introduction to your interviewer and should be impressive. When you are at a recruitment agency, you want to shake your interviewer’s hand firmly but not in a bone-breaking manner. The latter and a sloppy handshake are bad ways to start off an interview. In order to take charge of the interview, you also want to maintain eye contact and a good posture during the priority staffing exercise.
It is not hard to take charge and convince hiring agencies that they need to have you on the team. All you need to do is remember these main tips and apply them well. Take deep breaths whenever you feel nervous before the interview so you can calm down and give it your best.
